# Recording and Playback

Recording and Playback let you capture facial performance data and review it later.

### Recording workflow

1. Confirm required live slots show **Connected** and **Ready to record**.
2. In **LIVE** mode, select **Record** or press `Space`.
3. Monitor the **REC** indicator and elapsed time.
4. Select **Record** again or press `Space` to stop.
5. Open Session Browser and load the take.

### Playback workflow

1. Press `Q` to enter **EDIT** mode.
2. Press `Space` to play or pause synchronized playback.
3. Use `Left` or `Right` to step one frame.
4. Use `Shift` with either key to step ten frames.
5. Set play-range points with `I` and `O`.

### Recommended checks

* Confirm V, A, and B indicators match the expected take contents.
* Check face motion, expression response, audio, and video alignment.
* Confirm the session loads without validation issues.
